MY REFLECTIONS

  • Online learning has become an indispensable part of our lives. Over the years it has been constantly growing. With the advent of COVID-19 pandemic, it accelerated to even greater heights. However, I feel if pedagogy is not adapted to changing times, it becomes difficult to conduct lessons any platform. As a result, I felt this project on infographic was an effective technique to designing constructive learning environments. Similarly, these infographics helped me design and present most of the information to the readers in a concise and an interesting manner.

  • It was the first time that I designed these infographics, and I thoroughly enjoyed the process. As Bednar et al. (1991) mentioned, constructivism is a pedagogical theory that equates learning with creating meaning from learners’ experiences. I liked how, as a learner, I had the agency to build my understanding on the topic and present my interpretations on it. My interpretation was constructed based on my past experiences, personal views, and cultural background. (Brau, 2020)

  • Through the reflection component in the infographics, I was able to bring in my experiences as a teacher from India. This helped me to deeply evaluate the pedagogy I can apply for my future lessons to ensure that students can critically analyze the concepts without having cognitive overload of information.

  • Additionally, one aspect that I wish to slightly change for my infographics is to include components of 'Limitations' of Experiential Learning and Problem-Based Learning to further enhance the content presented. I feel this will help the audience to think and evaluate their own experiences and present their views in a more organic manner.
